On-device AI
No data sold

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the HORIZON — Explore possible futures Chrome extension (the “Extension”). It explains what data the Extension handles, where it is stored, and what control you have over it.

2. Data the Extension processes

The Extension processes the following data, all of it locally on your device:

DataWhat it isWhere it lives
Forecast subjects & resultsThe questions you type and the scenarios, timelines, and evidence the Extension generates for youYour browser’s local IndexedDB (horizon_forecast_memory_v1)
App settingsDisplay and visual-system preferences you choose in Settingschrome.storage.local
Forecast remindersScheduled times and reminder text for forecasts you choose to revisitchrome.storage.local + Chrome’s alarms API

None of this data is transmitted to HORIZON’s developer, to Anthropic, Google, or any other third party. It never leaves your browser profile unless you export it yourself.

3. On-device AI

HORIZON generates forecasts using Chrome’s built-in Prompt API (Gemini Nano), which runs the language model locally on your device. Your subject, forecast parameters, and the model’s output are processed on-device and are not sent to any remote AI service.

4. Permissions the Extension requests

PermissionWhy it’s needed
sidePanelLets HORIZON open and display its interface in Chrome’s side panel.
storageSaves your settings and reminder data locally in your browser.
alarmsSchedules local reminders to revisit a forecast at a future date.

HORIZON does not request host_permissions and cannot read the content of the pages you visit.

5. Analytics, tracking & advertising

The Extension contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no advertising code, and no tracking pixels. Your usage of HORIZON is not monitored or profiled by its developer.

6. Third-party links

The Extension includes an optional “Buy me a future” link to Buy Me a Coffee. This link only opens if you click it.

7. Data retention & deletion

Your forecasts, settings, and reminders stay in your browser for as long as you keep the Extension installed. You can delete them at any time by clearing individual forecasts from Forecast Memory or removing the Extension from Chrome.

8. Children’s privacy

HORIZON is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 — it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same location with a new effective date above.
